Kids and Adults Snowboard Instruction Basics

Ages shown are just to give perspective. You can can be 7-year-old advanced snowboarder as easily as a 42-year-old beginner. Most people are a blend of two different areas. Each private snowboard instruction experience is 'Guest Centered'. We go at your pace, fast or slow.

Beginner: Ages 6 to 75 years old

• For those who have never snowboarded.
• Have skied before and don't like uncomfortable ski boots.
• Maybe you saw snowboarding on the Olympics?
• You are adventurous and want to try something different
• Has played a snowboarding or skateboarding video game? Or bought one for your kids.
• Just think it's cool.

Intermediate: Ages 6 to 75 years old

• Snowboarded before, working on balance, and control
• Can turn and stop on bunny hill
• Working on refining turns on toe-side and heel-side
• Comfortable linking turns on blue terrain
• Thinking about freestyle for aiding balance

Advanced: Ages 6 to 75 years old

• Confident on linking turns on blue and most black terrain
• Riding switch, changing size and shape of turn with speed and control
• Understands carved turns versus skidded
• Performs flatland freestyle maneuvers with strength & on medium features
• Smooth and comfortable in medium bumps, trees, and powder

Expert: Ages 6 to 75 years old

• Smooth and comfortable in big bumps, tight trees, and steeps
• Carving on all terrain and conditions
• Advanced freestyle on big feature, switch take-off & landing, spins
• Terrain park confidence & applied movement analysis
• Understanding of biomechanics & how they related to board performance
